Update an Item, Box, or Container Location

  1. Click New Container and select a location from the list. Container types of locations and structures are excluded from the list.
  2. Enter the ID of the item, box, or container in the Item/Box/Container ID to Move field.
  3. Click Update. The item is moved and the item History appears.

Note: If the item ID you enter also has a box ID, you will be asked to remove the item from the box.

Stations

Use the Stations page to view or edit inventory items (details, notes, images, or voice recordings). You can also Clone or Delete items from the Stations page. On the Containers page, the Container Type of "Station" needs to be set for each station to access that station from the Stations page.

  • Access the Stations page in the Main menu.

Note: If you move a single item, when you click Retrieve Details, it will automatically move all other items associated with the same box ID with the item to the new location.

Move a box to a station

  1. In the Stations field, start typing a station name and select one from the list that appears. If a station does not appear in the list, go to the Containers page and add the station to your container layout; you must select "Station" as the container Type.
  2. Enter the Item ID or Box ID into the corresponding fields.
  3. Click Retrieve Details to view or edit details for that item. The items are moved from their previous location to the station you selected.

Clone an item

Cloning an item creates a new item with the same attributes as the original item including its details, history, and attachments.

  1. Select a station from the Stations menu.

  2. Enter the Item ID or Box ID into the corresponding fields. Click Retrieve Details.

  3. Select an item from the list and click Clone.

  4. Enter the new item ID for the cloned item and edit any information that will be different from the original item (see Add an Item for more information).

  5. Select Copy all attachments to have the attachments from the original item attached to the cloned item.

  6. Click Save.
